My mind can see crazy shit...LOL

Saw looks way better than the grudge - The grudge was PG13 - Nothing is scary to me under an R rating honestly.
smiley
Feb 8 2005, 01:10 PM
im with you...PG-13..not scary.....Scary has to R......im tired of these "scary" movies that dont scare because they lightened it up so they could get a PG-13 rating, so kids can go....NEws Flash..make it R...kids will still go...not like the movie theater employees give to shits whether your 14 year old goes and see a R rated movie.....

Actually it wasn't exactly scary - it was freaky! Weird ass shit. I'm usually what ever and don't give two shits, since Amittyville horror from back in the day. No movie has been able to stand up against that, since I saw it 13 or so years ago...

I hated it. I rented it the day it came out on video. What a waste of money.
I dunno maybe im just desensitized. Either way it still wasn't worth my time. I hated the fact that they jump around so damn much without warning you. It gets annoying. It was also pretty lame that the movie had no real ending. It just kinda stops. What's worse is that they are supposedly making 5 more of them. Remember the 80's when all the horror movies came in 6's and 7's. Like Friday the 13th and a Nightmare on Elm st?
Anywho, I didn't really find anything scary about it.
Another movie to stay away from is "The Village". It's marketed as "The years best thriller." What a fuckin crock! It's a love story and thats it! No horror, no suspense, nothing. It's a lame ass movie about some blind girl falling in love with this guy who doesn't speak much. He gets wounded so she decided to cross the woods to get him medicine. The end.
I hope saw is atleast decent.

I liked "The Village", it's not a horror, which many people think of when they think thriller, but I definately wouldn't call it a love story, that kinda just happens, it's not the direction of the movie. I liked it, and I have recomended it, I like the twists and turns that he takes with his movies, leaving some suspense. At least he puts thought into the movies and tries to go for some originality rather than the same old crap that keeps being produced.

Here's a good collection. Channel 4's 100 greatest scary moments
http://www.channel4.com/film/newsfeatures/...cary/index.htmlvoted by British viewers - a lot of them are just ads and TV shows some of you might not know but there are some good movie references. One of them I got to see was 'whistle and I'll come to you' a 40 minute black and white short film from the 60's showing that a simple idea on a small budget can be the most effective scare of all...

That's EXACTLY how I felt about the Village. I felt tricked into watching it and for that I hate the movie. If I wanted to see romance, id rent it. I wouldnt rent it under the assumption it was actually a thriller.
I got so pissed off after watching that movie, and waiting for something to happen that i decided to write them a nasty gram. I want my $4.25 rental fee back. (As well as 2 hours of my life). What a piece of crap.
I did however rent SAW last night. That movie is bad ass. I though it was very well written, LOTS of twists, serious suspense and a great ending. IF you want a good thriller/horror rent that bad boy!

I like the mask/puppet/robot thing, that thing is cool.
I thought it was good, although the ending seemed pretty typical, it was well done. It's even better when you consider that it was done by a first time writer and director (from Australia). I heard they're making a sequel.

I dunno I didn't think the ending was typical at all. I was quite surprised at the end.
It was very refreshing to see something new instead of an idea thats been done over and over and over again.
